How Laurie Finds Inspiration

In accordance with the Laurier motto "Inspiring Lives of Leadership and Purpose," who is someone that you aspire (either someone current or in the future) to inspire? 

I aspire to be someone who others look to for guidance and support. A person who is able to provide direction and recognize others’ accomplishments, while striving to be a good listener and to provide meaning to other peoples’ ideas and visions.

Working at Laurier, what inspires you?

Daily, I am inspired by our students’ ability to be resilient. Their genuine desire to learn, improve and represent Laurier in a positive manner. My team also inspires me by their willingness to collaborate, share ideas in a safe space and to work together to best serve our students.

How Laurie Inspires Others

In what ways do you see yourself as a leader within the Laurier community?

I see myself as a leader within Laurier by acting as a positive role model for those around me. I strive to set positive examples for students, to guide and to support them in reaching their goals.

What is unique about your Laurier community?

The Laurier Community means so much to me, especially my co-op family. They are supportive, engaging and hardworking – they are overall, amazing! This is a huge part of why I choose Laurier and strive to do my best each and every day.

How does your career at Laurier exemplify your commitment to inspiring lives of leadership and purpose?

Inspiring lives of leadership and purpose means to me that, throughout my role, I will work to support and encourage those around me as best I can. It further reinforces my commitment to provide support in trying times along with celebrating any successes with my Laurier community.
