My work grew from a journey of experience, forged in a close-to-the-soil childhood, driven by a search for a code of universal values, hammered home by trial and terror, to embrace the underlying needs that I felt science and technology could never secure.
It reaches its climax in the Quantum Parallax II, a collage that unites the abstract natural ‘diamonds...’ air; water; earth and fire in tissue paper and acrylic on baltic birch panels, with the supernatural world, made visible in paint on canvas.
This has been a neo-mythic climb in metaphoric terms, beyond appearances... to steal the ‘creative seed’ it would take to plant a new world architecture.
A ‘parallax’ indicates how an object’s appearance differs as the viewer’s position on the horizon changes. 'Quantum' defies reason, yet theoretically has substance.
The universal language of art is my medium.
