My aim is to transfer the feeling I experience to my paper or canvas and to capture the essence of my subject. I have a strong interest in abstraction and see my work taking a new direction. As Matisse once said - “Creativity takes courage.”
In the process of drawing or painting I wish to portray more than just the physical appearance of my subject. I want to bring out something of the character and mood of that particular person or place.
