These online certificates explore evidence-based best practices, supporting positive mental health and well-being in workplaces, educational settings and for personal growth and resilience.

Mental Health Crisis Response

Mental Health Crisis Response Applied Training and Education Program

This program is a scenario-based, community co-designed curriculum that offers enhanced training in de-escalation tactics and communication. The MHCR is mandatory training for all officers in Ontario. The MHCR-T3 program trains professionals from police organizations to become certified instructors for MHCR training.

Global Crime and Justice

A collaborative program with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), this 2.0 credit online certificate fits well with many Bachelor degrees such as Criminology, Global Studies, Law, Human Rights, and Political Science. Working professionals will find the online, short courses fit easily into their busy lives.

Essential Self-Care and Resilience

This special edition module was created to help support your positive mental well-being. The Essential Self-Care and Resilience course is designed to be readily accessible so you can see the benefits of your learnings immediately. Topics include the value of self-care, psychological self-care, physical self-care and spiritual and social self-care as well as a resilience component specifically focused on stress.

Emerging Practices in Community Policing

This online course reviews three transformative practices in policing that have emerged throughout Ontario in recent years; Ontario’s mobilization and engagement model of community, risk mitigation and situation tables, and the framework for planning community safety and well-being.

Situation Table Training

This short, online training package is designed for police services and community partners who are considering a Situation Table as a risk-driven collaborative intervention to increase community safety and well-being.

Police and Public Safety Supervisor Certificate

This course examines the many aspects of the role of supervision and leadership, and how they impact on the delivery of effective public safety services. It's designed for current, acting and aspiring police and public safety supervisors. Learners assess their current leadership attributes and go on to learn how to enhance competency.
