Becoming a Golden Hawk means more than just cheering on our (really good) varsity teams – it means being a student who cares about your community, who works hard in the classroom, and who takes advantage of all the learning opportunities that can happen outside the classroom, too.

Get confident in managing money through Dollars and Sense, Laurier’s program for financial wellness. Access resources, workshops and personalized support for financial planning. You can even attend workshops right at home in residence.
Creating a financial plan or budget before you arrive at Laurier helps minimize stress so you can focus on adjusting to university life, your classwork and new experiences. The earlier you start your financial plan, the more time you will have to familiarize yourself with your financial resources and to determine if you need additional funding sources such as government aid and bursaries.
Keep in mind that the little expenses like takeout food and trips home add up over time! Be sure to consider your individual needs and circumstances as you build your plan.
We offer in-residence programs designed to strengthen your financial knowledge and confidence. These programs encourage you to reflect on personal values and teach you how to budget.
Looking for even more support? Our financial literacy specialist can meet with you one-on-one to help create a tailored budget or financial plan.
Our Money Management Certificate is based on the foundational components of financial knowledge and led by local industry professionals. Complete four core workshops and two additional workshops to earn the certificate – and credit on your Laurier Experience Record!
Every year, you can apply for competitive scholarships, awards and bursaries by completing an online student profile about yourself.
